The astrology and spiritual side of the internet has a lot to say about this year. I can’t say whether they’re all right or wrong, but I can tell you what I saw and felt for the year. In the end, it’s up to you to interpret the information as it applies to your life and current reality. Nothing is set in stone because choices made create change.

Using my oracle deck I drew 4 cards with a fifth on the bottom of the deck. Virgo, Pisces, Gemini, Repurpose and Illusion on the bottom of the deck. I will say, before shuffling and pulling, I did sense that there would be a focus on health and maintaining what we have (physical items but also relationships and boundaries).

Virgo warns about health, not overworking oneself, and giving into the narrative that most governments and societal systems push where we need to hustle and work multiple jobs just to make up for their lack of care for citizens. They’re the ones making things harder, putting more strain on every aspect of living, and it’s not up to us to close that gap. Pisces gave direction to focus on creating, growing, and maintaining community. We need to do what we can for ourselves but also be there for our neighbors, whether they’re next door, around the corner, or several blocks away. Leaning on each other and not letting our egos and fear of judgement stop us from getting the help we need or building the relationships that will help immensely.

Repurpose isn’t focusing on that word specifically. It feels like it’s in combination with Illusion on the back of the deck. One of the adjectives for Repurpose is “interpretation“. Illusion is something that we’re breaking through even more and it is inspiring lots of action to be taken. The people are tired and are interpreting the events from around the world, their countries, and even local news in a way that is ringing alarm bells in their minds. Innovation and creation will play a part in how everyone decides to go about the illusion breaking. Don’t let the atrocities inspire apathy, because again choices create change and you are in control of your choices even if it doesn’t feel like it or the options aren’t that great. What about creating new options, not letting the past choices keep you down and out?

I have power, you have power, we all have the power with our choices to create the change we want to see. It can take time, but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen. We need to be patient, consistent, and believe in the future we want to create and experience. Gemini has a line at the end of their poem that reads “Nothing is grown from luck” which feels like a particularly important reminder for right now and going forward. Hindsight is 2020. What did the last 6 years teach us? 2026 is a 1 year in numerology but before we can really “start anew” we need to reflect on the patterns of the past so we can make new choices and not repeat what we don’t want to experience again. Gemini also has an adjective of “duality” which seems a bit stereotypical but also fitting to what I’ve mentioned. The specific duality of the external world being in turmoil and worried despair while our internal worlds are bright with fruitful dreams and hopeful resistance. Two sides of a coin, two truths occurring at the same time, a multitude of experiences we are having and can have.

Whatever you do, remember to take a breath and take in your current moment. Is there any one thing to be grateful for? The future is only so predictable, as much as people dislike it being that way. Delusional optimism will help combat the pessimism and apathy capitalism tries to create on a regular basis. Take note of what you feel you’re supposed to do (per society’s standards) and resist. What is it you want for yourself? What do you want to experience? How can going after that and achieving it help your community and the world? Have integrity, hold tight to your morals, and be open to the beautiful moments you can experience each day. You aren’t alone, we’re all here being humans as best we can, and yearning for connection and beauty and peace. So let’s create that for ourselves and each other.

Tranquilized came out twice while shuffling to finish up this post and I’m not 100% sure what it’s referring to. “Imminent, Bindings, Desperation, Suffocation” are the adjectives for this card and the last line of the poem is “Be prepared to steep in pain.” That doesn’t give a good feeling internally. I asked for clarification on who this card was for (me or y’all) and the answer was both. So this is for everyone. Clarifying card? Libra. A snake ascending the scales. Immediately what came to mind was the balance that needs to happen. So much is out of balance and wrongs will need be fixed, righted, and amendments made. The scales aren’t just for society or the world. It’s also our own lives. Where do we need to balance things for ourselves? Are we maintaining boundaries? Are we giving to ourselves as much as we’re giving to others? How about your ability to receive? Is that something that needs looking after? Don’t be so desperate to hold onto something that is not meant for you and is creating imbalance and upheaval in your life. Ask for help, believe you can achieve harmony, and do it scared. We will be alright. Again, we just need to be patient and believe. Deep breaths baby, we got this.
